I write "today" sometimes but can't say I overuse it. Others from the list aren't mine. Mine are "let's face it," "here it goes," and "below are." :) Trying hard to avoid redundant -ly adverbs and passive voice in articles. (Thanks, Stephen King and William Zinsser!)
