I am Ukrainian, and I don't understand Polish at all! :) I can "catch" separate words when reading or hearing Polish, but I don't get the whole message when someone is speaking. I always feel stupid when others call this language so easy and so similar to Ukrainian - if it's so, why I don't understand it? ((

Thanks for your reflections, Julia! Would your boyfriend understad you if you talked Ukrainian with him? It's the experiment I'd have. ; ))
